Awareness Dates and Allyship: Getting Involved in Coliberation

From Black History Month to International Women's Day to LGBTQ+ Pride, awareness dates are a great opportunity for organisations to show their support for marginalised communities. But for those from historically privileged backgrounds, concerns around how to approach these occasions respectfully and sensitively can create fears of getting things wrong or unintentionally offending.

To help, this webinar will explore how to be an ally when planning, delivering and/or attending an awareness date event or initiative for a social group you are not a member of. We'll identify what an ally is (and what an ally isn't!), how to navigate intersecting privileges and oppressions and the best way to get involved in contributing to equality and coliberation for everyone. At the end of this session, we'll hold a judgement-free question and answer period, with opportunities for discussion and shared learning.

"If we want to make a difference, then we need to do things differently - I’m here to show you how."
